TRB IDEA Begins
/Today we begin a Seattle application of the data synthesis process that was first employed in Atlanta. This project aims to evaluate the transferability of the data synthesis process across different regions at a different scale. Of course, the aim is to develop a process that is consistent and systematic in producing locally sensitive and representative data.
To help with this application, Puget Sound Regional Council, the metropolitan planning organization of the Seattle metropolitan region, will be assisting us. An expert panel will also participate, including representatives from the Atlanta Regional Commission, Ohio Department of Transportation, Oregon Department of Transportation, San Diego Association of Governments, and San Francisco County Transportation Authority/Metropolitan Transportation Commission.
This work is funded by the Transportation Research Board Innovations Deserving Exploratory Analysis (TRB IDEA) program. TRB is an arm of the National Academy of Sciences.
